Some things for sale...

Hey guys, hows everyone's week going? We hope all is well with things for you all.
So heres the deal: we've posted a couple of posts about a custom display cabinet for my collection a while back. We worked hard on it for a long time and we're very happy with the result. So after the cabinet was completely finished and I managed to squeeze nearly all of my collection in I realized something...I need more room. And the worst part is my collection just keeps growing. After all that work I decided that in the near future Im going to need more display room so Im going to have to purchase a new cabinet.

So Im going to sell the cabinet that Ive fabricated for the next avid collector to enjoy. Unfortunately it is a very large piece of furnature so I cant ship it. If you want to buy it you'll have to come pick it up. I have it up for sell on Craigslist.com here. Also if you guys ever need spare parts for your figures or anything of along those lines, check out my Ebay store here. Thats it for now guys, happy collecting!

Hot Toys 1:6-Terminator Salvation-John Connor(Final Battle Version)

Straight off its December 2009 release comes Hot Toys 1:6th scale John Connor(Final Battle Version) from the hit blockbuster "Terminator Salvation".
This highly detailed figure stands approximately 30cm tall, and boasts Hot Toys signature True-type body with over 36 points of articulation. The John Connor figure features a high quality head sculpture by Hot Toys sculpter Kojun, and perfect painting by Hot Toys master craftsman JC Hong. The headscult highlights movie acurate battle damage, such as the cuts Connor recieved from the T-800 in the final scene of the movie, and authentic Christian Bale likeness. The John Connor includes a full movie-accurate Resistance uniform featuring field jacket, pants, t-shirt, tactical belt, tactical vest, backpack, boots, and red armband. Accessories include headset with radio and pouch, several different weapon pads/holsters, and 4 sets of different hands with tastical gloves. The John Connor figure comes with 3 different including HK416 with tactical red dot sight and scope, M203 grenade launcher with elastic sling, and pistol. The Final Battle version also includes two new features-a dismanteled T-600 endoskeleton figure base(stand) and a 1:6th scale fully articulated Hydrobot with light up function.
So what's my opinion? This figure is exceptional! Ive been collecting Hot Toys 1:6th scale figures for about a year now and I can honestly say, Ive never been this impressed with any other figure. The painting and sulpture of the head is fantastic, from the realistic skin texture, facial hair and stuble, all the way down to wounds and dirt on his face. I couldnt believe all the pieces that were included upon opening the box, it was such a spectacle! Hot Toys payed special attention to detial on every piece included. I only have one complaint I could think of: Hot Toys always seems to have a lack of proper instructions to their figures. For that reason, it is very difficult to assemble all the accessories to the figures. However, this issue can be solved with a simple search on the internet.
One of the most amazing features about this figure is something thats been newly introduced with the Terminator Salvation Hot Toys line. The figure includes a highly themed base/stand that features a dismanteled T-600 endoskeleton and several belts of bullet casings. You can not measure the sheer size of this base just by looking at pictures. The base measures in at a huge 8" wide and 6" deep, coming up only 4" short of the figure's size itself. Thats 2/3rd's of the figure! The sculpter of the base is truly amazing and compliments John Connor perfectly. Another amazing feature is that along with all the other accessories included the Final Battle Version comes with a highly detailed, fully articulated Hydrobot endoskeleton. The Hydrobot measures 14 1/2" in length, and showcases tiny red LED lights for the eyes. An amazing piece included to an already amazing figure.
Its a truly fantastic figure and a steal for the price. Its a must-have for any Terminator fan, and you honestly can not get anything superior. We rate this figure at a solid 5 Stars; superior detail, surplus of accessories, unbelievable price.

Hot Toys 1:6-Iron Man 2-War Machine

One of the most anticipated figure lines this year has got to be from Iron Man 2. Never to disappoint...Hot Toys comes through with one of their most impressive figures yet. May I present to you...War Machine.
The movie-accurate War Machine collectible is highly detailed and specially crafted based on the image of Don Cheadle as the newly introduced character, War Machine, highlighting the well equipped armor, light-up functions and weapons. The figure features authentic and detailed fully realized likeness of Don Cheadle as War Machine in the movie Iron Man 2. The figure stands at approximately 30cm tall, boasting over 36 points of articulations, including movable and detachable parts on shoulder and waist. Figure includes four pairs of interchangeable palms: 1 pair with improved articulations/movable fingers/light-up repulsors (white light, battery operated), 1 pair of open palms with light-up repulsors (white light, battery operated), 1 pair of relaxed palms with light-up repulsors (white light, battery operated), and 1 pair of fists. The specially designed movie-accurate armor includes
LED-lighted eyes and heart (red light, battery operated) and fully articulated flaps at the back of armor on left and right legs. Also featured is an alternate head with authentic likeness of Don Cheadle as Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes.
Weapon detail is key on this figure, with
1 articulated shoulder-mounted gatling gun, rotatable and multidirectional, 2 shoulder-mounted cannons with one on left and one on right side, 2 machine guns with one behind left and one behind right forearm. Accessories are rounded off with a figure base with "War Machine" nameplate and "Iron Man 2" movie logo. Release date as of now is set to be at the end of quarter 2/early quarter 3, 2010. Jon's Collection Update 2010

In a recent post I told you all about my recent project of fabricating a custom cabinet for all of my collection. Well its finally done and her is the finished product with everything in it.

I have been a serious collector of Batman collectibles for a little over a year now, and Star Wars collectibles for over a decade. I had some of my collection out for display last year, but I simply did not have the space to display a majority of it. Not to mention the fact that it just keeps growing nearly every week. Now with this case completed I can display every piece, and Im very proud of the result. My only complaint is that I actually ran out of room and had to clutter my case. I know ironic, huh? Click on the images to see more detail.

Next time we'll show you Andrea's growing collection.

UPDATE-1/15/10
My collection was featured today on the BAT-BLOG! Click here to check it out!

My First Custom 1:6 Figure-Update

In a post a couple weeks ago I told you all that I was working on a custom figure. Well after much patience my 1:6 scale full suit finally arrived straight from Hong Kong, and my figure is now complete. So now I present my first one sixth scale custom figure...Mr. Bruce Wayne.

Custom Hot Toys 1:6 Bruce Wayne

The suit was provided by a Hong Kong company called Minibarbie Boutique. Now dont be fooled by the name, they offer tons of high-quality 1:6 outfits and some pretty exceptional suits. The set included a pair of black socks, leather belt, a pair of leather shoes with real laces, tie, white buttom-up collared shirt, black with white pin-striped slacks, and a black with white pin-striped blazer. I used a Hot Toys Caucasian Slim Version TrueType figure and the Bruce Wayne headsculpt that came with my Hot Toys MMS 1:6 Batman(TDK Version). I have to say I think this is one my favorite pieces of my collection right now. He looks so sharp and intimidating in his suit. Definitely a must for any Batman fan.

The Hot Toys MMS 1:6 Bruce Wayne headsulpt.

I have Bruce Wayne holding a Batarang from my Batman figure.

The suit is actually manufactured by Minibarbie Boutique, and the detail and realism is exceptional. The laces are actually real and lace up.
