Andy Griffith passed away peacefully this morning at his home in North Carolina at the age of 86. Griffith is most widely known as the starring role of Sheriff Andy Taylor in the 1960's television series "The Andy Griffith Show" alongside friend Don Knotts as Deputy Barney Fife.
I actually grew up watching this show with my Grandfather. We'd sit on the couch around noon every afternoon, whistling the infamous theme song and laughing at the hilarious pair and all their mishaps. He brought joy and laughter to multiple generations over decades, and he will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace.
