R.I.P. Andy Griffith 1926 - 2012
Andy Griffith passed away peacefully this morning at his home in North Carolina at the age of 86. Griffith is most widely known as the starring role of Sheriff Andy Taylor in the 1960's television series "The Andy Griffith Show" alongside friend Don Knotts as Deputy Barney Fife.
I actually grew up watching this show with my Grandfather. We'd sit on the couch around noon every afternoon, whistling the infamous theme song and laughing at the hilarious pair and all their mishaps. He brought joy and laughter to multiple generations over decades, and he will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace.

NECA - Gears of War Series 3 - 7" Figures

"You know the deal by now. Hell, our Gears of War figures are practically an institution at this point. Marcus Fenix and company are back in action against the Locust Horde to close out the war once and for all, and after the excellence that came with our Series 1 and Series 2 figures for the game, we decided to make it a trilogy of our own.
The result is Gears of War 3 Series 3, which is our most detailed and biggest series yet! Marcus Fenix returns after leading off the first series. This time, he’s out of his armor with a gold Lancer (have you seen our Retro Lancer replica? It’s awesome) for a figure we’ve called Journey’s End, and is joined by a COG soldier and two versions of the Savage Theron, which come complete with Butcher Cleavers, just like in the game.
These Savage Therons are the first Locust figures in the Gears 3 line, so make sure you don’t miss out!
As always, we’ve crammed as much articulation as possible into these new sculpts, including an ab crunch, pectoral movement and double elbows. Marcus and the COG Soldier have over 30 points of articulation, and somehow they still came out totally accurate to the game and each character’s unique look.
So while the complex storyline of the Gears of War trilogy meets its end, we’re right where we’ve been the whole time: Bringing you all the best in goods from the game. Don’t forget to grab a Dom figure from Series 2 to go with your new Marcus, and don’t forget to check out our San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Elite Theron.

NECA - BioShock 2 - Toys ‘R’ Us Exclusive Brute Splicer 7" Figure
Top man, indeed. The Brute Splicer may be the biggest target in BioShock 2, but it’s going to take more than aim to bring him down. Our latest BioShock action figure is the Brute Splicer, and it’s arriving as a Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive.
The Brute Splicer was initially a part of a third series of BioShock figures, and if this one does well, we’ve still got a few other Splicers up our sleeve. But considering the tale behind this cockney-accented London native, we thought this might be a good time to highlight his story:
As a skilled boxer, he left London behind to make his way in Rapture. Quick to anger and bigger than most, he found that he rarely fit in with other men. When the city cracked open, he changed with it. The flooded streets tested him man against man and his skills made him a first-rate ruffian — never afraid to hit below the belt. After years of hoarding ADAM he’s now capable of inhuman feats of strength — hurling insults one minute, tables the next.
The Brute Splicer was created when Leo Hartwig combined Sports Boost and Armored Shell gene tonics. Seems like a pretty cool idea, except that Leo tested the formula on himself and, whoops, he became the very first Brute Splicer. Now Brute Splicers can be found wandering around Rapture’s underwater dystopia, spewing epithets and pummeling players every chance he gets.
A massive figure in both height and girth, the Brute Splicer is just the latest in a long line of top notch NECA goodies for this unique series of games. Don’t forget to check out our Big Daddy Ultra Deluxe figure, 2010′s SDCC Exclusive Eleanor Lamb, the full-size Welder Mask Replica, the EVE Hypo Syringe Prop Replica, and the always adorable Big Daddy Plush Doll.
